Daniel Sturridge To Return From Injury For First Time Since August

Jan 26, 2015 2:16 PM

Daniel Sturridge could make his first appearance since August on Tuesday in Liverpool's match against Chelsea in the Capital One Cup.

Sturridge initially picked up a thigh injury in international play and then had a calf injury and a new thigh injury.

If Sturridge doesn't play against Chelsea, he will be available for Saturday's match against West Ham.

“This is a big game but we have to be realistic, we have to be careful,” Rodgers said. “We have shown without him in the last seven, eight weeks that the team is at a good level. If he feels fresh and he feels right to be involved in some part, then we will maybe look at it. But it is a big risk.”

Arsenal Lose Mikel Arteta, Mathieu Debuchy For Three Months

Jan 15, 2015 11:25 AM

Arsenal have confirmed that Mikel Arteta and Mathieu Debuchy will both be out of their lineup for three months.

Arteta, 32, last played for the Gunners against Borussia Dortmund on Nov. 26, but damaged his calf during the game.

Debuchy dislocated his shoulder against Stoke on Sunday.

"Mathieu had a surgery on his right shoulder following the injury on Sunday," said Arsene Wenger. "It's very unfortunate for Mathieu, it's unbelievable because he's had two surgeries in the same season.

"He just came back, he played seven games and he's out again. I count three months out for Mathieu because contact will be a problem for the shoulder."

Mathieu Debuchy Could Be Out Three Months, Impact Arsenals' Transfers

Jan 13, 2015 11:15 AM

Arsenal full-back Mathieu Debuchy is waiting to hear whether he will need to have surgery for a second time this season, after he injured his shoulder in Sunday's 3-0 Premier League win against Stoke.

Debuchy underwent ankle surgery shortly after his arrival at Arsenal from Newcastle during the summer transfer window and has only played six Premier League games since his return to action in mid-November.

Debuchy's latest injury could have an impact on Arsene Wenger's plans in this month's transfer window, with the Gunners manager suggesting previously that he may not need to sign additional players if his entire squad remained fully fit.
