Chelsea Not Currently Considering Firing Maurizio Sarri

Feb 13, 2019 10:39 AM

Chelsea are not currently considering firing Maurizio Sarri.

Chelsea currently are sixth in the Premier League.

With qualification for the Champions League the primary objective for Chelsea, further setbacks in the Premier League or elimination from the Europa League could put Sarri's job at risk.

February will be a critical stretch for Sarri.

United Spent $515M During Jose Mourinho's Tenure On His Choices

Feb 13, 2019 10:33 AM

Sources say Manchester United spent approximately £400 million on the transfer market during the tenure of Jose Mourinho with all of the players selected being choices of his.

Mourinho, however, argued consistently that United have failed to keep up with the "financial and strategic" support offered to his key rivals at Liverpool and Manchester City.

Ed Woodward was forced to tell Mourinho that they wouldn't push to sign Jerome Boateng from Bayern due to his injury history.

Mourinho was publicly upset with United's inability to sign a center back ahead of the 18-19 season.

Club employees routinely found Mourinho difficult to deal with, privately commenting he was "high maintenance."

Marcelo Prepared To Leave Real Madrid

Feb 12, 2019 11:23 AM

Marcelo says Real Madrid needs to "pay me up" and he will leave this summer if they want him to.

Marcelo has been linked with a move to join Cristiano Ronaldo at Juventus.

"If I am on the list of players [Madrid] want to sell, then they can pay me up and all is sorted," Marcelo said. "I trust in myself, in my work, but if a day comes when Real Madrid do not want me, I'll go. I will be sad, but I'll go. But I am sure I will not be kicked out."

Marcelo has been targeted by opposing teams during his recent poor run of play.

"The level I have been showing is difficult to always maintain," he said. "I am a little below that level at the moment, but my career has been like that, some little dips, and unfortunately this season I had three injuries in two months. I went through a difficult period in my football and within the club.

"But that phase is over now, I need to play to get back to my usual form and confidence. But I feel good now, physically good, I am training strongly. I need to play to get back my confidence, but physically I am good."

Neymar Out For Over Two Months With Foot Injury

Jan 30, 2019 9:57 AM

Neymar has been ruled out for up to 10 weeks with a right foot injury suffered on January 23.

He will miss both legs of Paris Saint-Germain's Champions League round of 16 tie against Manchester United.

Neymar was injured while playing against Strasbourg last Wednesday in the French Cup but will not require surgery.

A PSG statement read: "On Tuesday evening Paris Saint-Germain gathered together a group of world-renowned medical experts at the Ooredoo Training Centre to carry out a thorough review of the injury to Neymar Jr.'s right foot, sustained against RC Strasbourg in the Coupe de France round of 16 match on Jan. 23.

"After detailed analysis by the specialists, a consensus was reached of a conservative treatment of Neymar Jr.'s injury to the fifth right metatarsal. Informed of this recommendation, Paris Saint-Germain's Brazilian international striker agreed with this protocol. As a result, Neymar Jr. is expected to return to the field within 10 weeks.

"Paris Saint-Germain sends its strongest support and encouragement to Neymar Jr. to overcome this injury, with the courage and determination that the player has always shown."
