Daniel Sturridge has missed Liverpool's past two matches with a knee injury and is a doubt for Sunday's match against Southampton.

Sturridge will undergo a scan on the injury, which was sustained in training.

“I spoke to him a few minutes ago. It is not much better at this moment,” said Jurgen Klopp. “With Daniel’s injury we have to proceed day by day. If he can train, for example, completely normal then it is an option.

“Today we have another treatment and another screening maybe because there is a little bit of fluid [inside the joint].”

Sergio Aguero will be out for another month with a leg injury.

Aguero suffered the injury during a World Cup qualifier against Ecuador.

Aguero was also nominated for the Ballon d'Or award.

“It’s not surprising that Sergio has been nominated for the Ballon d’Or,” Manuel Pellegrini said. “It is a surprise he has won nothing here in the past.”

Fabian Johnson has been diagnosed with a thigh injury by Borussia Monchengladbach.

Johnson was sent home by Jurgen Klinsmann with "a very severe word" so "he could rethink his approach to the team" after he substituted himself off late in the United States' loss to Mexico.

Klinsmann could have kept the issue in house, but he instead make it a very public issue with his remarks to the media.

Tim Krul will miss the rest of the 15-16 season after tearing his ACL.

Krul sustained the injury during international duty with the Netherlands.

A Newcastle statement read: "Krul will now return to Tyneside for further treatment and rehabilitation and everyone at the club wishes him a speedy recovery.

"Following Krul's injury, Freddie Woodman has been recalled from his loan spell at Crawley Town."

Karim Benzema could be out up to three weeks after suffering a hamstring injury on international duty with France.

Benzema will likely miss Real Madrid's next two La Liga matches, as well as a Champions League match against Paris Saint-Germain.

Sergio Aguero will be out up to eight weeks after suffering a grade-two tear in his hamstring.

Aguero picked up the injury in Argentina's 2-0 defeat to Ecuador.

Aguero will miss the Manchester derby on OCtober 25th and Manchester City's next two Champions League matches.

Mario Gotze has been ruled out for 10 to 12 weeks with a thigh injury sustained in Germany's Euro 2016 qualifier defeat to Republic of Ireland, the German football federation (DFB) announced on Friday.

Gotze could miss up to 14 matches for his club Bayern, including their upcoming Champions League double-header with Arsenal.

Gotze overstretched while battling for the ball with James McCarthy.
