Arturo Vidal was driving under the influence of alcohol when he crashed a Ferrari in the outskirts of Santiago, police said on Tuesday.

Vidal suffered minor injuries in the crash and received leniency from a judge though he had his license confiscated.

Vidal crashed the vehicle when he was driving with his wife on a highway south of the Chilean capital on their way back from a casino.

"Unfortunately I was involved in a traffic accident," Vidal wrote on his Twitter account, in Spanish. "Luckily we are all well and calm. Thanks for worrying."

Vidal scored two goals in Chile's draw on Monday against Mexico in their opening match of Copa America.

Giorgio Chiellini will miss the Champions League Final against Barcelona with a calf injury.

The center-back pulled up in training dealing a blow to Juventus' chances of thwarting Barça’s attacking trio of Lionel Messi, Neymar and Luis Suárez.

Chiellini is now unable to line up against Suárez for the first time since the Uruguay international was banned for four months for biting him at the World Cup finals in Brazil last year.
