Manchester United have agreed to sign Rasmus Hojlund from Atalanta for $82 million.

Hojlund emerged as the top center-forward target after they back away from Harry Kane.

Hojlund is yet to play 100 senior games in his career and last season scored nine times in 32 appearances in Serie A. 

Paris Saint-Germain are set to buy Ousmane Dembele from Barcelona.

Dembele has a €50 million ($55 million) release clause in his Barca contract that is valid until July 31, when it goes up to €100 million.

David Silva has announced his retirement from soccer at the age of 37 following a torn ACL. Silva had planned to play for Real Sociedad this season.

"Today is a sad day for me," Silva said in a video message posted to social media. "Today is a time to say goodbye to what I have dedicated my whole life to. I'm going to miss you. Thank you for making me feel at home."

Silva began his career at Valencia before joining Manchester City in 2010.

A statue of Silva now stands outside the club's Etihad Stadium alongside former teammates Vincent Kompany and Sergio Aguero.

Kylian Mbappe has rejected an opportunity to negotiate with Al Hilal on a contract. 

Mbappe is being offered a €200 million fixed salary proposal plus 100 percent image rights.

Paris Saint-Germain are convinced Mbappe has already agreed to terms on joining Real Madrid.

Isco has joined Real Betis on a one-year deal as a free agent.

Sevilla terminated Isco's contract after just four months.

Manchester United have offered €60 million ($66 million) to Atalanta for Rasmus Hojlund. 

Hojlund has emerged as United’s key target as they attempt to strengthen their attacking options.

Paris Saint-Germain are also interested in Hojlund. 

Al-Hilal have submitted a €300 million ($332 million) bid to Paris Saint-Germain for Kylian Mbappe.

PSG is determined to sell Mbappe if he doesn't sign an extension. Al-Hilal and Mbappe have not held contract talks. PSG is convinced that Mbappe and Real Madrid have already agreed to terms on a free transfer.

Al-Hilal could try to tempt Mbappe with a world-record salary even if it is only a one-year deal.

Manchester United believes they still have an opportunity to sign Harry Kane from Tottenham Hotspur.

Spurs owner Joe Lewis has told chairman Daniel Levy that he is not prepared to let Kane leave the club for free next summer.

A deal to bring Kane to United remains unlikely. 

Erik Ten Hag is desperate to land a striker before the deadline with Atalanta's Rasmus Hojlund and Eintracht Frankfurt's Randal Kolo Muani are considered more attainable targets.

Paris Saint-Germain has excluded Kylian Mbappe from their preseason tour and they're considering never playing him again.

Mbappe has one season remaining on his contract and he's informed the club he plans to leave as a free agent in 2024.

PSG President Nasser Al-Khelaifi has previously said Mbappe must sign a new contract this summer to stay at the club and they are now executing on that tough stance.

Mbappe has not told PSG he wants a move to Real Madrid, who are prepared to acquire him when given the green light. Madrid are the only club Mbappé wants to join this summer.

Lionel Messi made his debut for Inter Miami on Friday, coming off the bench in the 54th minute.

Messi scored a free-kick goal in stoppage time to give Inter Miami a 2-1 win over Cruz Azul in the Leagues Cup.

"What I saw was the goal. I knew that I had to score with the last play of the game. It was very important to get this win. It gives us confidence moving forward," said Messi.

Messi signed a 2½-year contract with Inter Miami that will pay him between $50 million and $60 million annually.
