Jose Mourinho admitted he has an uncertain future with Roma amid links to Paris Saint-Germain.

"I have to fight for these lads and therefore not say objectively that I will remain," Mourinho, whose side was tied 1-1 with Sevilla after extra time, told Sky Sports Italia. "I spoke to the club in December when I had that approach from the Portuguese national team.

"I have not had any contact with anyone else since then. I have a year left on my contract and this is the situation."

Manchester City are in talks to sign Mateo Kovacic from Chelsea. 

Kovacic has one season remaining on his contract with Chelsea and there have been no discussions on an extension. Chelsea are thought to be willing to sell for a fee in the region of £35 million.

Kovacic joined Chelsea from Real Madrid in 2018.

Sevilla defeated Roma 4-1 on penalties to win their seventh Europa League title.

Roma took an early 1-0 lead with a Paulo Dybala goal, but an own goal by Gianluca Mancini in the 55th minute allowed Sevilla to equalize. 

The defeat was Jose Mourinho's first in six European finals.

Sevilla defeated PSV Eindhoven, Fenerbahce, Manchester United and Juventus on their way to the final.

Lionel Messi and Xavi have been in contact about a potential return to Barcelona. Messi left Barcelona for Paris Saint-Germain two years ago and is now a free agent.

"In terms of what I am in charge of, the football side of things, there are no doubts that if Messi comes back he is going to help us," Xavi told Diario Sport when asked if Messi returning would make sense.

"I have made that clear to the president. I don't have a single doubt about that because he is still a difference-maker, he is still hungry, he's a winner and he is a leader.

"We don't have a team with the talent of 2010, for example, and what does Messi bring? He brings talent. He is capable of providing the final pass, taking free kicks, scoring goals. He is a differential player in the final third.

"For that reason, and for how I want to play, for me there is no doubt that he would add a lot. But it depends on him."

Messi has also received interest from Saudi Arabia and Inter Miami.

Liverpool has hired Jorg Schmadtke as sporting director.

Schmadtke spent more than four years in the same role at Bundesliga side Wolfsburg before leaving at the start of the year. 

Schmadtke will replace Julian Ward.

Liverpool finished fifth in the Premier League, outside the Champions League qualification spots for the first time since 2016-17.

Karim Benzema is considering his future at Real Madrid after receiving a lucrative offer to play in Saudi Arabia. 

Benzema was offered a two-year contract worth €400 million in January. The 2022 Ballon d'Or winner reportedly reached an agreement with Madrid earlier this month to renew his contract for another year, but the situation has changed in recent weeks.

Benzema has suffered with numerous fitness issues this season and was sidelined for the 2022 World Cup.

Juventus have emerged as the frontrunner to sign Christian Pulisic away from Chelsea. 

Chelsea are looking for a £20 million transfer fee.

Pulisic, a £58 million signing from Borussia Dortmund in 2019, has 12 months remaining on his contract at Chelsea. 

Pulisic earns £13 million per year at Chelsea. Pulisic, 24, has endured an injury-hit time at Chelsea over the past two seasons. 

Chelsea have hired Mauricio Pochettino as manager on a two-year deal with an option for a third year.

Chelsea fired Graham Potter on April 3rd.

The club also confirmed Pochettino's backroom staff will include longtime assistant manager Jesus Perez, plus first-team coach Miguel D'Agostino, goalkeeping coach Toni Jimenez and his sports scientist son, Sebastiano.

Chelsea face a season without European football for the first time since the 2016-17 campaign, in which they lifted the Premier League title.

Manchester United plan to bid early on Harry Kane in hopes of a smooth negotiation with Tottenham Hotspur.

Kane is atop Erik ten Hag's short list for a new striker.

Napoli’s Victor Osimhen and Rasmus Højlund of Atalanta are also on the list, but United have been quoted €150 million for Osimhen. 

Daniel Levy of Spurs is considered a tough negotiator and he could feel pressure to keep Kane. Ten Hag is said to be obsessed with Kane.

United is also interested in signing Mason Mount, who is increasingly likely to leave Chelsea. 

Paris Saint-Germain will have a monumental summer in which they will remake significant portions of their squad.

Lionel Messi will leave PSG on a free transfer, while Neymar and even Kylian Mbappe could also exit.

PSG is expected to target French players and specifically ones from Paris.

The likes of midfielders Manu Koné (Borussia Monchengladbach) and Kephren Thuram (Nice), forwards Randall Kolo Muani (Eintracht Frankfurt), Moussa Diaby (Bayer Leverkusen), playmaker Rayan Cherki (Lyon) or defender Evan N'Dicka (Frankfurt) are all on the list.

There are exceptions like Bernardo Silva (Manchester City), who is keen to join, and Victor Osimhen (Napoli) or Harry Kane (Tottenham), who will be more of a challenge considering the amount of interest in both.
