Mino Raiola Upset Over False Reporting Of His Death

Apr 28, 2022 11:32 AM

Mino Raiola posted on Twitter on Thursday that he was angry amid a flurry of reports that claimed he had died.

"Current health status for the ones wondering: pissed off second time in four months they kill me. Seem also able to resuscitate," Raiola tweeted following reports across social media that he had died.

Raiola was admitted to the hospital in January and remains in serious condition.

Doctor Alberto Zangrillo, who is treating Raiola, said he was furious at the false rumours.

"I'm indignant at the phone calls by pseudo journalists speculating on the life of a man who is fighting [for his life]," Zangrillo told Italian news agency ANSA.

Raiola represents some of the game's biggest players, including Erling Haaland, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Paul Pogba. Matthijs de Ligt, Gianluigi Donnarumma, Jesse Lingard, Blaise Matuidi, Hirving Lozano and Mario Balotelli are also among his client list.

Real Madrid Reach Agreement With Antonio Rudiger

Apr 25, 2022 1:57 PM

Real Madrid have reached a preliminary agreement with Antonio Rudiger to join the club from Chelsea.

Madrid began working on a agreement for the defender after the second leg of their Champions League match, and sources said the deal could now be sealed "in record time."

Negotiations have moved fast, sources said, because Rudiger is keen to join Madrid, and has also considerably reduced his wage demands.

Thomas Tuchel Blames Pitch For 3rd Straight Stamford Bridge Loss

Apr 21, 2022 8:32 AM

Thomas Tuchel has claimed the Stamford Bridge pitch was partially to blame for Wednesday's loss to Arsenal.

"To say the pitch is difficult to play here it maybe sounds like an excuse, but it is a very, very difficult pitch that we have here," said Tuchel. "It's not in our favor. The ball bounces very awkwardly in front of Andreas when he wants to play this ball.

"But still, we had the same mistake against Real Madrid that cost us the next round of the Champions League, and this one cost us the next match. I can't remember when we got two goals like this.

"We conceded seven goals with Toni [Rudiger] against Brentford and Real Madrid, that answers the question. It's not about individual players. A defensive performance is a team performance, and an offensive performance is a team performance. You need to have the tactics right, which is doubtful I had this right, and you need the team selection right, again it's doubtful I had this right.

"Then it's a game for the players. They get full praise when they do it when they did it for the last three matches. And they have to face the reality that it's impossible to win matches if you make this amount of mistakes of this calibre. It's simply impossible. I don't see it in any other matches, but I see it now in consecutive matches of our games, and it has to stop."

Manchester United Announces Erik Ten Hag As Next Manager

Apr 21, 2022 8:30 AM

Manchester United has named Erik ten Hag as their manager.

Ten Hag becomes United's fifth permanent manager since Sir Alex Ferguson retired in 2013, following David Moyes, Louis van Gaal, Jose Mourinho and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

United has also had Ryan Giggs and Michael Carrick manage the team on an interim basis.

"It is a great honor to be appointed manager of Manchester United, and I am hugely excited by the challenge ahead," Ten Hag said. "I know the history of this great club and the passion of the fans, and I am absolutely determined to develop a team capable of delivering the success they deserve.

"It will be difficult to leave Ajax after these incredible years, and I can assure our fans of my complete commitment and focus on bringing this season to a successful conclusion before I move to Manchester United."

City Increasingly Confident Of Signing Erling Haaland

Manchester City is moving closer to a summer transfer for Erling Haaland as they're prepared to trigger his €75 million release clause with Borussia Dortmund. City has become increasingly confident they will beat out Real Madrid to sign Haaland.

A full agreement on agent fees and wages has not yet been reached between City and Haaland.

"No answer to your question," Pep Guardiola said. "No questions. I have no concern about what will happen in this club next season.

"I don't know what will happen in the future. For many years I never talk about transfers, especially when we are playing for this season."

Alexandre Lacazette In Talks With Several Clubs

Apr 18, 2022 10:21 AM

Alexandre Lacazette has said he is in talks with several clubs as he is expected to leave Arsenal as a free agent this summer.

Lacazette hinted his aim is to join a club in the Champions League, which puts a potential return to Lyon in peril.

Lyon are out of the Champions League spots in Ligue 1 in seventh, six-points behind third-placed Rennes, who occupy the playoff spot.

"I never cut contact with Lyon since I left," he added. "Now Lyon know that I'm free, they've come by the information.

"It's a bit more complicated. I want to play in Europe. It's been a long time since I've played in the Champions League, I miss it.

"Nothing is impossible in life, but it's a bit more complicated."
