Fabio Coentrao has joined Monaco from Real Madrid on a one-year loan.

Coentrao had an injury-plagued 14-15 season and Marcelo was often chosen as first choice left back.

AC Milan are close to a loan deal to bring back Mario Balotelli.

Liverpool bought Balotelli from AC Milan last offseason.

Balotelli spent two seasons with the Rossoneri before moving to Merseyside last year. He made 43 Serie A appearances for the Milanese club, scoring 26 goals.

"Certain loves come back, but we're going to have to wait a while yet before we can sing that about Balotelli," Adriano Galliani said. "We're in talks with Liverpool to bring him back on loan. We've not reached an agreement yet about how much of his wage we will have to pay and how much they will pay.

"So there's no agreement just yet. The player has realised that this is the very last train for him to get on. He wants to come back, so let's see."

Alen Halilovic has joined Sporting Gijon on loan from Barcelona.

Halilovic, 19, had been linked to a move to Portugal but elected to remain in Spain to get first team appearances. 

Halilovic broke through the Dinamo Zagreb youth system to become a key player for the first team before joining Barca in summer 2014.

Rangers are close to a season-long loan deal with Arsenal for Gedion Zelalem.

Several English clubs have hoped to land Zelalem on a loan.

Zelalem plays for the United States internationally.

Zelalem played for the Gunners Under-21s on Friday night, scoring a stunning late solo goal to wrap up a 1-0 win.

Manchester City will not let Eliaquim Mangala leave on loan in this transfer window.

Valencia wanted to take back Mangala if they could agree on a sale of Nicolas Otamendi to City.

The 24-year-old endured a difficult first season in England following his £42 million move from Porto in August 2014.

Mangala sent a Tweet on Sunday evening which suggested he wants to stay at City, saying: "I am a Citizen."

Liverpool have rejected an offer from Roma for Mamadou Sakho on a loan deal.

Sahko has fallen behind Martin Skrtel and Dejan Lovren in the battle for first-team appearances.

Sakho, 25, joined the Reds from Paris Saint-Germain for £18 million in 2013, but his Anfield career has been disrupted by injury.

Edin Dzeko has completed his move from Manchester City to Roma on a season-long loan.

Roma will be obliged to purchase Dzeko for €11 million next summer -- "if certain conditions" are met, the clubs said.

Roma needed to free up a space among their non-EU players for Dzeko which they did on Tuesday by loaning striker Antonio Sanabria to Sporting Gijon.

Real Madrid wants Martin Odegaard to play with Real Madrid's B team under Zinedine Zidane.

But his initial idea at the end of last season was to receive a loan to a La Liga team with Getafe offering a place.

Odegaard doesn't turn 17 until December.
