Manchester City will not let Eliaquim Mangala leave on loan in this transfer window.

Valencia wanted to take back Mangala if they could agree on a sale of Nicolas Otamendi to City.

The 24-year-old endured a difficult first season in England following his £42 million move from Porto in August 2014.

Mangala sent a Tweet on Sunday evening which suggested he wants to stay at City, saying: "I am a Citizen."
