Harry Kane Sustains Ankle Ligament Damage

Mar 14, 2017 9:18 PM

Harry Kane sustained ankle ligament damage in Sunday's 6-0 FA Cup win over Millwall.

Kane suffered the injury to his right ankle, and is the same knock as he picked up in September that ruled him out of action for seven weeks and 10 games.

Spurs are optimistic Kane's injury is not as severe this time.

"We can confirm that Harry Kane sustained ligament damage to his right ankle during Sunday's FA Cup win against Millwall," Spurs said on their Twitter account. "The injury is similar to the one suffered by the forward against Sunderland in September last year, however it is not considered to be as severe.

"Harry will continue to be assessed by our medical staff while he undergoes his rehabilitation at our Training Centre."

Fernando Torres Hospitalized Following Collision

Mar 2, 2017 6:48 PM

Fernando Torres was hospitalized after being involved in a collision late in Atletico Madrid's 1-1 draw at Deportivo La Coruna on Thursday.

Initial tests showed no signs of any serious spine or head injuries after Torres collided with Depor's Alex Bergantinos while jumping for the ball in the 84th minute.

Atletico released a statement soon after the game ended that said: "Fernando Torres has suffered a traumatic head injury and has been transferred to hospital for tests.

"Our player, who is stable, suffered a heavy blow to the head in the final stretch of the match and had to be removed by ambulance quickly to a hospital. The Rojiblanco striker will spend the night under observation."
