Cristiano Ronaldo Downplays Severity Of Right Leg Muscle Injury

Apr 21, 2016 6:50 PM

Cristiano Ronaldo has downplayed the severity of a muscle injury in his right leg.

Ronaldo was substituted and limped off with the field with the injury.

Ronaldo posted an Instagram photo on Thursday saying: “All good. Thanks for your support”.

“He got a fright but I don’t think it is anything serious,” Zinedine Zidane told AS. “I am calmer now than when I saw him leave the pitch. For a coach when you have a player like Cristiano sometimes it is necessary for him to not play a game or not finish a match.”

Robert Lewandowski Was In Car Accident Few Days Before Benfica Match

Apr 14, 2016 1:35 AM

Robert Lewandowski was involved in a car accident four days before his team's Champions League quarterfinal second leg clash against Benfica on Wednesday.

Lewandowski started on the bench in that game, and only came on in the 84th minute in place of Thomas Mueller, but Bayern's sporting director Matthias Sammer insisted the Polish striker's car accident on Sunday, did not influence Guardiola's decision to give him a bench role.

"Accidents happen to a lot of people, but you only rarely see prominent footballers involved." Sammer told Sky. "He is doing alright. These kinds of things happen.

"It was a minor accident. These things happen, but it did not have any influence on [Pep] Guardiola's decision."

Jordan Henderson Likely Out 6-8 Weeks With Knee Injury

Apr 14, 2016 10:41 AM

Jordan Henderson will likely miss six to eight weeks with a knee ligament injury.

Henderson will likely miss the rest of Liverpool's season and possibly also miss the Euros for England.

Encouragingly for Henderson, however, the scan showed the injury to his LCL is isolated.

Henderson does not require surgery, only treatment and an intensive period of rehabilitation, but would not play again for his club this season with a six-week recovery.
