Andy Robertson has signed a long-term contract extension with Liverpool. 

Robertson is the latest Liverpool player to sign a new long-term extension, with goalkeeper Alisson Becker, defenders Virgil Van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold and midfielder Fabinho all inking new deals in the past month.

"Obviously when the negotiations started and it looked as if my future was going to be here longer term than what it was, then I think it's no secret that I'm happy at this club," Robertson said in a statement.

"I want to stay at this club for as long as possible and to extend my stay, it's always a happy time for me, for my family. We're settled here, we love everything about this football club and I'm glad that the journey is continuing.

"When you sign for a massive club, I still remember the day as if it was yesterday when I signed here and obviously you have ambitions to become a regular player for Liverpool, to win trophies for this club, to do everything else but the way it's gone has been excellent."

Karim Benzema has signed a two-year extension with Real Madrid that will keep him with the club until 2023.

Benzema's contract was due to expire next summer.

After joining in 2009, Benzema has gone on to make 560 appearances in all competitions for Real and is the club's fifth all-time leading goalscorer with 281.

Granit Xhaka has signed an extension with Arsenal until 2024.

Xhaka was previously interested in leaving Arsenal this summer. Xhaka captained Mikel Arteta’s side in Friday night’s defeat at Brentford and is expected to remain a key figure this season.

Thibaut Courtois has signed a new contract with Real Madrid through June 2026.

"Real Madrid C. F. and Thibaut Courtois have agreed an extension to the player's contract, which will see him remain at the club for the next five seasons," the club announced in a statement on Monday.

Courtois joined the club for €35 million from Chelsea in the summer of 2018, having previously spent three years in LaLiga on loan at Atletico Madrid from 2011 to 2014.

Virgil Van Dijk has signed a new four-year deal with Liverpool.

Van Dijk is set to return for the first time in nearly a year as he returns from a torn ACL.

"It is something to be very proud of, that I am very proud of, that my wife and my kids are very proud of," Van Dijk said in a statement.

"All the hard work we've put in so far continues and I am looking forward to what the future brings together with Liverpool. I'm delighted, very happy and proud.

"It has been going well; unfortunately last season for me personally has been a season to forget, to learn from and take with me, but I have enjoyed my time here and will keep enjoying it in the next couple of years altogether with all of you."

John Stones has signed a new five-year contract extension with Manchester City through 2026.

Stones was entering the final season of his contract with City.

"I love being part of this squad. There are so many quality players here and I know we can continue winning trophies, which is my main focus," Stones told the club's website.

"The success we've had in the last four years has been incredible. To be a part of it has been a dream come true and I just want to continue winning."

Alisson has signed a long-term contract extension with Liverpool. 

Alisson joined Liverpool from Roma in 2018.

"Me and my family, we are really happy here," Alisson told the club's official website. "My kids are settled in England, in a different country, but they are growing up in that way. So we are really happy.

"I'm really glad that I can keep going on with my work here, doing a good job here. So, I'm really happy to make this decision -- that is not hard for me.

"We have to set goals and we have to set them high -- winning everything that we are playing [for], the Champions League, Premier League, the cups, everything. I think we can start from there.

"But obviously winning depends on what we will put on the pitch, what we will give on the pitch and we have to give 100 per cent at least. If we can push harder, we will go."
