Thiago Alcântara suffered a partial tear to the medial ligament in his left knee in Bayern Munich's 3-3 draw on Saturday against 1899 Hoffenheim.

Thiago will likely miss at least four weeks.

Carlo Ancelotti is downplaying the seriousness of Cristiano Ronaldo's injury.

The Spanish media is suggesting that Ronaldo has a patellar tendon injury.

"Cristiano has a little issue but it doesn't stop him from training normally," said Ancelotti.

"If things get worse naturally Ronaldo would rest - but everyone is relaxed at the moment."

Victor Valdes will miss six months with a torn cruciate ligament, according to a report from Sports.es.

Valdes was injured in the opening minutes of Barcelona's match on Wednesday against Celta.

Valdes would miss the World Cup if the diagnosis is correct.

Valdes had planned on leaving Barcelona in the summer, so he has likely played his final game with the club.

Thiago Silva suffered a fractured cheekbone on Friday.

Paris Saint-Germain does not expect Silva to miss the first leg of their UEFA Champions League matchup against Chelsea.

"His condition did not require surgery. The downtime will depend on the evolution of pain in the coming days," a statement released on PSG's official website read. 

Silva is one of the world's best center backs and will be critical elements for both PSG's run in the Champions League and in the World Cup for Brazil.

Robin van Persie will miss four to six weeks with a sprained knee.

van Persie will miss the Champions League quarterfinals, along with the derby against Manchester City.

van Persie suffered the injury in the closing minutes of United's win over Olympiacos on Wednesday.

Chicharito is expected to start in place of van Persie.

Manchester City will not have Sergio Aguero in the lineup for the Manchester derby on Tuesday.

“No chance for United,” said Manuel Pellegrini. “Maybe next week he will start working with the squad but I think maybe he will start training with the whole squad at the end of the week.”

Aguero's status for a key Arsenal match a week from Saturday is also unclear.

Pellegrini also was asked about rumors of a transfer of Aguero to Barcelona.

“We cannot talk every week about players that are [supposedly] coming here to Manchester City and the players that are going out. I think Aguero is a Manchester City player, he is very happy here and the club is very happy with him.”

Marcel Schmelzer will be out four weeks with a torn groin suffered in Borussia Dortmund's Champions League match on Wednesday against Zenit.

Schmelzer said: ”I got tripped in a tackle, and felt pain in both groins.”

Dortmund will also be without Robert Lewandowski in the first leg of the Champions League quarterfinals after he picked up his second yellow card.

Jese suffered a torn ACL in the opening minutes of Real Madrid's Champions League match on Tuesday against Schalke.

Jese had emerged for Real this season at just 21 years old at winger.

The right knee injury to Álvaro Arbeloa is more serious than originally thought.

Carlo Ancelotti initially believed Real Madrid would be without Arbeloa for approximately three weeks, but it now appears as though he'll be out for far longer.

Arbeloa said that the injury was worse than he thought “but if everything goes well, I’ll be out from six to eight weeks.” He added: “Hopefully, I make it back in time to play in the Champions League final if Madrid make it and the World Cup if I’m picked.”

With that much time out of the lineup, Arbeloa's spot on Spain's World Cup team is certainly in peril.

Mesut Özil will miss at least three weeks with a hamstring injury.

Özil was in the starting lineup in Arsenal's Champions League loss to Bayern Munich and was substituted at halftime after not appearing right.

"He has a hamstring problem that looks quite serious," said Arsène Wenger. "We have to make a scan to see how bad it is but he is out at least for a few weeks. I hope it's not too bad."
