Jack Wilshere Out Three Months Following Ankle Surgery

Nov 27, 2014 11:13 AM

Jack Wilshere has undergone ankle surgery and will miss three months.

Wilshere suffered the injury in Arsenal's lost last weekend at home against Manchester United.

Arsenal currently has 10 players sidelined by injury.

Wilshere wrote: “Ankle needed surgery in the end, went well thanks to the main man James Calder! Work hard for what you want because it won’t come to you without a fight.

“You have to be strong and courageous and know that you can do anything you put your mind to. If somebody puts you down or criticizes you, just keep on believing in yourself and turn it into something positive.”

Mikel Arteta Could Miss Significant Time With Calf Injury

Nov 26, 2014 11:22 PM

Mikel Arteta could "be out for a while" with the calf injury that made him exit Arsenal's 2-0 win over Borussia Dortmund on Wednesday.

"That doesn’t look good, it’s the calf," Arsene Wenger told Sky Sports. "It’s very difficult to take on the chin because we are going into many games and you need everybody available, but I think Arteta will be out for a while."

"I liked what he did tonight because we decided to go long to him and he protected very well the ball, what he did on the first goal was class, his link-up play with Cazorla, but unfortunately he got injured."

Jack Wilshere To Miss Three Months If He Undergoes Surgery

Nov 26, 2014 5:10 PM

Jack Wilshere could face ankle ligament surgery and a lay-off of around three months.

Wilshere will meet with a specialist on whether he needs the operation to repair the damage to his left ankle that he suffered after a challenge from Manchester United’s Paddy McNair on Saturday.

If Arsenal feel that Wilshere can be fully rehabilitated without the surgery, he would be back in action sooner but he would still most likely miss around eight weeks.
