Henrikh Mkhitaryan Considered Key To United's Pursuit Of Alexis

Jan 16, 2018 10:07 AM

Manchester United's bid for Alexis Sanchez could pivot on whether Henrikh Mkhitaryan is willing to accept a move to Arsenal.

It is understood Mkhitaryan does not view himself as a makeweight in any deal that would take Sanchez to United and is instead the key to a transfer.

When Sanchez’s signing-on fee plus that of his agent’s are factored in this would mean United having to pay around £60 million for a player who is free to leave Arsenal in the summer.

Crystal Palace hopes to buy Khouma Babacar from Fiorentina.

Roy Hodgson has made no secret of the fact the squad he inherited in September was imbalanced, with Palace boasting only Christian Benteke as a recognised striker and only two senior goalkeepers.

Babacar, who has also attracted interest from West Ham and West Bromwich Albion, has scored four goals in Serie A this season.

Leipzig Won't Allow Naby Keita To Join Liverpool In January

Jan 14, 2018 10:16 AM

RB Leipzig has confirmed that Naby Keita won't be allowed to leave the club to join Liverpool during the January transfer window.

Liverpool agreed to a transfer with Leipzig last summer that wouldn't see him join their club until the summer of 2018.

Following the sale of Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona, Liverpool had hoped to bring Keita over sooner.

Leipzig sports director Ralf Rangnick said on the club’s official website: “We won’t allow Liverpool to sign him early, even though they have shown renewed interest to bring him in during this transfer window.

“As everyone knows, we are not a selling club, therefore it would only have been possible had we reached a mutual agreement involving an exorbitant additional fee. That is not the case.”

City Willing To Walk Away From Alexis Sanchez Pursuit

Jan 13, 2018 9:46 AM

Manchester City are willing to walk away from negotiations on Alexis Sanchez amid interest from Manchester United.

City had felt that a deal to secure the arrival of the 29-year-old in the January transfer window was imminent after they agreed personal terms with his representatives over a contract worth £13 million a season.

City is offering £20 million to Arsenal but they have been informed it will take a fee of £35 million to make the move happen.

United are willing to offer Sanchez higher wages and a fee of £25 million to Arsenal.

City agreed a £60 million deal with Arsenal in August, only for the transfer to collapse when Arsène Wenger failed to complete a move for Monaco’s Thomas Lemar on deadline day.
