Benjamin Mendy Facing Uncertain Future At City

Sep 28, 2018 5:01 PM

The future of Benjamin Mendy at Manchester City is uncertain following an argument with Pep Guardiola.

Mendy is sidelined with a metatarsal injury and unavailable for Saturday's Premier League match against Brighton.

Guardiola has been annoyed by Mendy's behavior.

Sources have also said Guardiola was furious with Mendy on Sunday when the player reported three hours late for treatment at the training ground.

Asked about Mendy at his prematch news conference on Friday, Guardiola said: "Yes, he was late. I have spoken to him.

"They [the players] know that they have to be here on time."

Paul Pogba's Agent To Hold Talks With United In November

Sep 27, 2018 5:32 PM

Paul Pogba's agent will hold talks with Manchester United over his future in November.

Pogba has been at United since rejoining from Juventus for a then world-record fee of £89 million in 2016 and Mino Raiola wants to meet the club to establish whether they would be willing to let his client go in January or next summer.

Raiola also wants to see whether Jose Mourinho will remain as manager of United in November.

United did not contemplate selling Pogba last summer when Barcelona made an offer of £45 million plus the players Yerry Mina and André Gomes.

Turkey’s bid was marked down for needing to upgrade airports, railways, roads and stadiums, particularly at a time when its economy is struggling.

United Players 'Angry, Frustrated' With Jose Mourinho

Sep 26, 2018 10:56 AM

Several of Manchester United's senior players are "angry and frustrated" with Jose Mourinho's man-management this season.

Sources say Mourinho's decision to strip Paul Pogba of vice-captaincy is merely the latest episode to bemuse the team.

Pogba was absent from the team as United were eliminated from the Carabao Cup by Championship outfit Derby County on Tuesday night.

A source who is close to Pogba's agent, Mino Raiola, has said they believe Mourinho has lost his greatest asset: the ability to cajole, read and relate to his players.

United's management remain supportive of Mourinho despite only a handful of players now fully behind him.

Spurs Hope To Be In New Stadium By Christmas

Sep 25, 2018 6:34 PM

Mauricio Pochettino is hopeful Tottenham Hotspur will move into their new stadium by Christmas.

Spurs have now gone 500 days without a match in their own ground.

“I am confident,” Pochettino said of the opening of the new White Hart Lane. “This year. I am confident. I had some private conversation with Daniel [the chairman]. I think they are confident. They are working hard to try to find the solution. I hope before Christmas we can play. That’s my wish.”

Pochettino says discussions with Levy are a daily occurrence, but the subject of the stadium, for which the chairman has endured criticism, is not always an easy topic to broach. “Sometimes he tells me, sometimes I open the conversation and say: ‘Daniel, how is the stadium?’ and sometimes it’s tough to explain. But, yes, we hope, and we heard before [that this is possible], I am very confident before the year. I hope after that comment Daniel doesn’t kill me tomorrow.”

Jose Mourinho Tells Paul Pogba He Won't Captain United Again

Sep 25, 2018 2:24 PM

Jose Mourinho has informed Paul Pogba he will not captain Manchester United again due to their strained relationship.

The news was delivered to Pogba and the rest of the players at United's Carrington training ground on Tuesday. Pogba criticized Mourinho for a lack of attacking football in United's 1-1 draw against Wolves.

Pogba caused controversy after the opening-day win over Leicester by suggesting he would be fined if he said what he wanted about his situation at United.

Pogba was open to a move away from United this past summer.
