Manchester United have dropped their interest in signing Antoine Griezmann as the club will instead prioritize signing a striker rather than a No. 10. The injury to Zlatan Ibrahimovic is changing the equation for what United needs to do in the summer.

United may return to try to sign Griezmann in the future.

With Atletico Madrid under a transfer ban until January, they have a greater need to keep Griezmann but a decreased ability to do so.

If a club pay Griezmann's €100 million (£87 million) release clause, Atlético will not be able to do anything to prevent his departure.

Griezmann has been inconsistent with his messaging to the press about whether he wants to stay or go.
