Lionel Messi is strongly in favor of Barcelona keeping Dani Alves, his frequent partner on the right flank.

Alves is without a contract for next season and Barcelona had been hesitant to offer an extension until they received a transfer ban.

"Alves is the best full-back in the world," said Messi. "It's very difficult to find another one like him."
