Jermain Defoe left Tottenham for Toronto FC last spring on a four-year contract, but Tim Leiweke said he may return to England during the January transfer window.

"As to what happens during the next transfer window, we've all agreed we'll put it on hold and talk about that in December."

Defoe was linked with Queens Park Rangers in the final days of the summer window and with the Hoops and West Ham in the past month.
