Chelsea Receives Two-Transfer Window Ban By FIFA

Feb 23, 2019 11:42 AM

Chelsea has received a two-transfer window ban after FIFA found them guilty of a serious and systemic breach of rules dealing with foreign players under the age of 18.

The Guardian revealed last month that Fifa had looked into more than 100 player cases at Chelsea and it emerged on Friday they had charged them with 92 breaches of article 19 alone.

Chelsea ultimately have the right to appeal to the court of arbitration for sport (Cas).

Chelsea was facing an uncertain short-term with Eden Hazard angling for a transfer to Real Madrid.

Willian, Pedro and Callum Hudson-Odoi are also out of contract at the end of next season.

Feb 5, 2019 4:13 PM

Jose Mourinho has agreed to pay a $2.5 million fine and was given a 1-year suspended sentence for admitting to tax fraud while Real Madrid manager.

Mourinho was accused of using offshore companies to hide his earnings while in Spain.

“I left Spain in 2013 with the information and the conviction that my tax situation was perfectly legal. A couple of years later I was informed that an investigation had been opened. They told me that to regularise my situation I had to pay X amount. I didn’t answer, I didn’t argue, I paid, I signed the papers with the state that show my conformity and that everything is definitively closed," said Mourinho back in 2017.
