Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund will soon discuss a potential transfer of Erling Haaland. Real Madrid had previously chosen to focus their efforts on signing Kylian Mbappe with the belief that Manchester City lead the race to sign Haaland.

But Madrid now think it will be possible to sign both Mbappe and Haaland.

Haaland is also a priority for Barcelona, but Madrid is skeptical of their ability to afford him.

President Florentino Perez has an excellent relationship with Borussia Dortmund's executives.

Carlo Ancelotti refused to speculate about that possibility in a news conference on Friday, when he said: "I can't answer that question; they aren't Real Madrid players. I like to talk about the players I have."

Haaland's camp has ruled out the possibility of him staying at Dortmund until 2023.

Real Madrid believe the situation will be resolved this month.
