David Moyes hopes to secure a transfer to bring Edinson Cavani from Paris Saint-Germain to Manchester United in the summer.

PSG will look to recoup the majority of the £55 million transfer they paid to Napoli for Cavani last summer. Cavani will also demand a minimum of £6.7 million -per-season, after tax, in wages should he decide to leave France this summer.

According to former Sky Sports commentator Richard Keys, United and PSG already have the framework of an £80 million deal for Cavani.

More importantly, Cavani is unlikely to approve a move to United if they are not in Champions League next season. United is currently 12 points out of a top-4 spot in the Premier League.

Cavani told beIN SPORTS that he is comfortable playing wide on the right for PSG with Zlatan Ibrahimovic in the central striking position. Cavani was the focal point of Napoli's attack last season when he had 29 goals in Serie A.

“Up to now, the results have proved that everything is going well,” Cavani said.

“I don't play in the same position as I did at Napoli, but the most important thing for me is to be on the pitch.

“My ambition remains the same. I always have the hunger to score, to be on the pitch and finish the team's moves.

“I want to help my teammates, even if I'm a striker, because it's important to win back possession. But scoring is something incomparable.”
