James Rodríguez is having a remarkable World Cup and could be on the move again one year after his €45 million transfer from Porto to AS Monaco.

“It’d be a dream to play in Spain, one of the best leagues in the world,” said James after Colombia's 2-0 win in the Round of 16 over Uruguay.

"I prefer Real Madrid to Barcelona," said James.

Real Madrid and Barcelona are presumably the only two teams in Spain that could afford a move for James. Atlético Madrid could theoretically reinvest some of their funds from the Diego Costa sale to Chelsea.

Manchester United and Liverpool were linked to James before Monaco outbid both clubs.
