Cesc Fabregas is moving closer to a January transfer to Monaco with Saturday's FA Cup match against Nottingham Forest expected to be his last with Chelsea.

Fabregas came off the bench in Wednesday's goalless draw with Southampton. Fabregas waved to Stamford Bridge at the final whistle in what appeared to be a goodbye gesture.

Fabregas confirmed on social media he will play against Forest on Saturday, but Chelsea believe that will be his final outing before leaving Stamford Bridge to join Monaco on a cut-price deal.

Monaco is now managed by Thierry Henry, who was a teammate of Fabregas at Arsenal.
