Chelsea are monitoring Fiorentina's Juan Cuadrado for a potential January move, sources have told ESPN FC, although any transfer probably remains dependent on the departure of either Andre Schurrle or Mohamed Salah.

"For Salah to leave, someone has to come, and I don't think we are going to let Salah go on loan and then spend some money to bring somebody else in," said José Mourinho.

"So I don't think so, unless my club comes to me and says Salah goes on loan and we are going to buy a £50 million player."

Cuadrado is known to feel it is time to move to a higher level, having been pursued by both Manchester United and Barcelona last summer after his fine performances for Colombia in the World Cup.
