Martin Ødegaard is close to agreeing a deal with Real Madrid, according to reports in Norway.

The 16-year-old is said to have flown in a private jet to Madrid with his father Hans Erik and his agent Tore Pedersen on Tuesday night, with the aim to agree terms with the European champions.

According to VG’s sources, Ødegaard will get shirt number 16, with Real Madrid having gone to the lengths of printing out the jersey to demonstrate their desire to acquire him. It is envisaged that Ødegaard will be part of the first team, with good prospects of featuring in Carlo Ancelotti’s plans.

Bayern, City, United and Liverpool have also sought a deal with Ødegaard.
