Orlando City SC is in active discussions to sign Atletico Madrid attacker Antoine Griezmann, a source told ESPN. Despite the ongoing talks, no agreement has been reached between the French international and the MLS club. Three other clubs have interest in Griezmann, but Orlando holds his discovery rights.

Griezmann remains under contract with Atletico through 2027, though that has not prevented his representatives from engaging with Orlando City. The timing of any potential move remains uncertain, with Griezmann expected to feature for France at this summer's World Cup in North America. A source told ESPN the decision on whether he joins now or during the summer transfer window rests with the player.

The 2018 World Cup winner has long identified MLS as his desired destination to close out his playing career.

"I've always said it, my target is to end up in MLS," Griezmann told ESPN in 2023. "It's my objective, to be there and end my career there, to be able to enjoy the sports there. I'm a big fan."

Griezmann is in his second stint with Atletico Madrid, recording 69 goals in 187 appearances across all competitions since returning to the club in 2021. He began his career in Spain with Real Sociedad in 2009 before joining Atletico, then Barcelona, before completing a permanent return to Atletico. Griezmann has played just 832 minutes this season, but has scored six goals even though his influence has decreased significantly.

His trophy collection includes the 2018 Europa League and 2018 Super Cup with Atletico, the 2021 Copa del Rey with Barcelona and the 2018 FIFA World Cup and 2021 Nations League with France. He finished third in Ballon d'Or voting in both 2016 and 2018.
