England manager Thomas Tuchel has ruled out playing Jude Bellingham, Phil Foden and Harry Kane together in the national team's current tactical structure. The head coach told TalkSport on Wednesday that accommodating all three stars would compromise the balance he has developed.

Tuchel recalled Bellingham and Foden to the England squad this week after both missed the previous two camps. The manager has designated Bellingham as a number 10, while Foden occupies what Tuchel calls a "9-10ish" or "nine and a half" position.

"At the moment, if we keep the structure, they cannot play," Tuchel said when asked about the trio starting together. "Not for the balance that we developed, and not for structure that comes also with wingers who are like specialists in their positions."

Bellingham faces immediate competition from Morgan Rogers, who has started England's last three matches in the number 10 position and impressed. Tuchel confirmed Wednesday that both players are vying for the same role.

"Rather than finding for the best players a position to just have them on the field, it's maybe better to put everyone in the best position and have a competition," Tuchel said. "At the moment the competition is between the two of them."

The manager previously ruled out moving Foden to the wing, a common solution under former England boss Gareth Southgate. Instead, Foden will be deployed further forward during this camp.

Tuchel acknowledged that difficult selections lie ahead for the World Cup. He said there is a "very low percentage chance" England take five number 10s to the tournament.

"We will always do what's best for the team, we will always do what's best for winning," Tuchel told TalkSport. "We will try to keep the clarity, even if means that we have to take tough decisions."

The manager praised Foden's versatility as a potential asset, noting the Manchester City player has embraced his new hybrid role between the nine and ten positions.
