Javier Hernandez has agreed to return to the Premier League with West Ham.

"Chicharito" is expected to undergo a medical on Monday ahead of a move to the London club from Germany's Bayer Leverkusen, where he had been entering the final year of his contract.

Herandez's $16.9 million release clause was set to be activated.

Hernandez scored 39 goals in 76 appearances for Leverkusen.

West Ham had been frustrated in their attempts to land transfer targets this summer, with Arsenal's Olivier Giroud, Chelsea's Michy Batshuayi and Manchester City's Kelechi Iheanacho all linked with moves to the London Stadium.
