Chelsea have agreed to sign Alvaro Morata from Real Madrid on a club record transfer fee of £70 million ($91.2 million).

Morata was already with Real Madrid in Los Angeles for their tour of the United States.

Chelsea's previous record transfer fee was for Fernando Torres in 2011 from Liverpool worth £50 million.

Morata will replace Diego Costa, who will be sold this summer.

Antonio Conte signed Morata when he was with Juventus just before taking the Italy job in 2014.

Real Madrid exercised their buy-back clause for £23 million in 2016. Morata scored 15 goals in 26 appearances in La Liga.
