Paris Saint-Germain are preparing to hold talks to buy Neymar from Barcelona for €222 million ($256 million). While Barcelona is insisting Neymar will remain with them, PSG is becoming increasingly optimistic a deal will be reached.

PSG thought they had a deal for Neymar last summer but he stayed with Barcelona on an improved deal.

PSG can easily meet Neymar's release clause and salary requirements.

Nasser al-Khelaifi, the PSG chairman, has reopened the door to the transfer and Antero Henrique, the sporting director, is in line to talk with Neymar’s father.

Neymar could become the primary star at PSG instead of deferring to Lionel Messi at Barcelona.

Barcelona’s vice-president, Jordi Mestre, has said he is “200%” certain Neymar will stay.
