Manchester City are on the verge of signing Danilo from Real Madrid for €30 million ($34.5 million) plus a potential €5 million in add-ons.

City also signed Kyle Walker at right-back but they view Danilo as being capable of playing left-back and as a holding midfielder.

Pep Guardiola was always likely to target the full-back positions after releasing Gaël Clichy, Pablo Zabaleta and Bacary Sagna at the end of last season.

City had reached a deal to sign Dani Alves before he backed out to sign with Paris Saint-Germain.
