Ronald Koeman says he expects to remain Barcelona manager next season ahead of his side's match against Villarreal.

"The president from the first day has shown his support and confidence in me. Until the opposite happens then I'll say the same thing.

"So, in principle, I see myself as the coach for next season. I have a contract as well. If that's not the case, we'll need to talk," said Koeman on Saturday.

Barcelona are currently in third place in La Liga.

Koeman added that he's not worried about overworking players ahead of the match.

"It doesn't worry me too much because we have their data. Players have played a lot, but we're recovering well. The players are always in good shape to start the matches.

"Sometimes there isn't much rest, but we need to accept the kick off times. Despite criticism they don't change. We need to accept it and recover."
