Ole Gunnar Solskjaer dismissed recent rumors linking Paul Pogba to Real Madrid.

“Paul is a very nice and polite man who then answered a general question on Zidane, who is an icon in France, a fantastic manager and used to be a fantastic player and he’s just politely answered that question. But Paul’s happy here, he’s going be a big part here and you like to build your team round him and that hasn’t changed at all," said the United manager.

Solskjaer also added that the club are close to hiring a sporting director, and that he will have a say in future signings.

"A manager can’t do as much as he used to do when my gaffer [Sir Alex Ferguson] started [in 1986]. I think the demands of football nowadays means you’ve got to split responsibilities.”
