Real Madrid has identified Zinedine Zidane and Jose Mourinho as possible successors to Santi Solari.

Solari will be fired as manager as soon as a replacement is found.

Zidane still lives in Madrid but would likely reject a return to the job he stepped down from last summer.

Mourinho is considered the more likely candidate. Mourinho managed the club from 2010 until 2013.

Other potential targets including Mauricio Pochettino and Jurgen Klopp are unlikely to leave their jobs before the summer, which could leave Mourinho as the club's only realistic option.
