Tim Sherwood has left his post as manager of Tottenham after a break clause in his 18-month contract was activated.

The club finished in sixth place in the Premier League table, but Sherwood has come in for criticism and in the final game against Villa invited a fan to sit in his seat on the touchline.

In an interview with The Sun on Tuesday, given before Sherwood's departure was announced, Sandro said that the atmosphere among the squad had been better under Andre Villas-Boas in the first half of the season before the Portuguese was sacked and replaced by Sherwood.

"Andre was one who would always speak very closely to most of the squad one on one, whereas Tim does most of his talking during training on the side of the pitch rather than afterwards individually with players," the Brazilian said. "The dressing-room atmosphere hasn't been a buoyant one in the second half of the season."
