Luis Suárez has had an extraordinary season by every account, but his EPL-leading 12 assists may be the most surprising and extraordinary.

“Every forward is selfish, and any forward who tells you he is not selfish is a liar,” Suárez said.  “I love scoring. But at the same time, if I see that someone is in a better position, then I will pass to them because that is the right thing to do.”

That said, Suárez makes no secret about what motivates him. “I’m a forward,” he said. “I’m a striker. We want to get goals; we want to be involved. We want to be the stars of the show. That’s the way it is.”
