Tottenham Hotspur and Harry Kane have agreed to put their extension talks on hold as the parties are far apart on a new deal.

Tottenham have tied down a number of their top players to new long-term contracts in recent weeks, including Eric Dier, Christian Eriksen and Dele Alli, as Mauricio Pochettino looks to secure the futures of key members of his squad.

Talks between Kane and Spurs have been ongoing for several months.

Kane's current deal at White Hart Lane, which runs until 2020, sees him earning less than some of his rivals in the England squad and Premier League due to Tottenham's wage structure.
