Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu is open to Pep Guardiola someday returning to the club as manager.

Bartomeu believes Guardiola will ultimately be successful in England.

"Well, Pep is creating a new project at City and I can tell you -- it will be successful," he said. "He's an incredible coach."

He said Guardiola had wanted to move to the Premier League as a player and that it was "normal" that he had sought to experience it as a coach, adding: "I hope that one day he will be back here."

Asked if that was a genuine possibility, he said: "You never know. There are so many people who were at the club, went, came back again. You never know but right now he is concentrating on City. I think he has a three-year contract?

"We have a match [against City] and we are going there to win. We need to win because the Champions League is very important for us. Our objective every year is to try and win every title and the Champions League is one of the titles we desire more."
