Guus Hiddink has been named interim manager of Chelsea following the firing of Jose Mourinho.

Hiddink previously was interim manager of Chelsea at the end of the 08-09 season when Luiz Felipe Scolari was fired.

The 69-year-old told the club’s official website: “I am excited to return to Stamford Bridge. Chelsea is one of the biggest clubs in the world but is not where it should be at the moment. However, I am sure we can all turn this season around.”

Hiddink succeeded Louis van Gaal as manager of the Netherlands but he failed to have the team qualify for Euro 2016.
