Pep Guardiola has confirmed that his decision on whether to extend his contract with Bayern Munich will be made in the next week.

There has been increasing speculation that Guardiola will leave Bayern for Manchester City.

“Tonight, I have no answer,” he said. “Next week there will be clarity.”

Blid is reporting that Bayern is already bracing for his departure.

Philipp Lahm has told Guardiola that the squad would like him to extend his stay.

“The team’s position is clear, we enjoy working with our coach and we really, really want to keep doing so,” said Lahm.

Given the presence of the chief executive Ferran Soriano and the director of football Txiki Begiristain at the Etihad, both of whom he worked with at Barça, City has seemed like an ideal fit for Guardiola.
