Atlético Madrid advanced to the Champions League Semifinals this week, but Diego Simeone is concentrating on La Liga.

“We’re competing very well in La Liga. I’ve always said that La Liga is what matters most to us and tomorrow we have an important game, against a rival who need points and who we know well, as they always make a big effort against us," said Simeone. "Our focus is solely on what the game encapsulates and we hope to respond the same way.”

Atleti is currently one-point ahead of Barcelona in the table of La Liga.

“La Liga is at an advanced stage and we’re in a lovely position, but to keep having the same options we do today, we need to have a great game tomorrow. There are less games all the time and we must know how to play with this in mind, but it all depends on how we respond as a team.”

“We’ve had four days to recover and tomorrow we’ll see if we have to make any rotations or not. Today, more than ever, we live game by game. It’s important to isolate ourselves from what’s going on externally, though to feel and experience what’s happening.”
