Pep Guardiola will leave Manchester City following Sunday's final Premier League match of the season against Aston Villa, ending a ten-year tenure at the Etihad Stadium. An official announcement is expected Sunday, with a celebration parade planned for Monday.
Guardiola, 55, won 20 trophies during his time in Manchester, including six Premier League titles and the club's first Champions League. His run included four consecutive league championships, an achievement without precedent in English football.
City began informing sponsor partners of the impending announcement, and sources close to Guardiola have described the news as an open secret in recent weeks.
Transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano reports that former Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca will replace Guardiola as Manchester City head coach. Vincent Kompany, currently in charge at Bayern Munich, had also been identified as a leading candidate.
The Monday parade is expected to begin in Manchester's Northern Quarter at 4pm before concluding outside the Colin Bell Stand at the Etihad Stadium one hour later.
Guardiola has one year remaining on his contract. Reports indicate he may retain some role at the club following his departure as head coach.
City defeated Chelsea 1-0 at Wembley on Saturday to claim the FA Cup, and remain in contention with Arsenal for the Premier League title. They face Bournemouth on Tuesday before hosting Aston Villa on Sunday in Guardiola's final match as manager.
