Six people were arrested by Bulgarian police for their connection to racist chants during Bulgaria's Euro 2020 match against England.

“It is unacceptable for Bulgaria, which is one of the most tolerant countries in the world – and people of different ethnicities and religions live in peace – to be associated with racism and xenophobia," said Bulgaria prime minister Boyko Borissov.

The arrests were part of the fallout resulting from the match, with Bulgaria football president Borislav Mihaylov resigning on Tuesday.
