Newcastle United has secured promotion back to the Premier League one year after being relegated.

“Rafa Benítez, Rafa Benítez,” roared St James’ Park as the manager indulged in a low-key lap of honor with his players.

Benitez was hired in March of 2016 shortly before they were relegated.

Newcastle was also relegated in 2009 and spent just one season in the Championship.
