Sepp Blatter and Michel Platini have been given eight-year bans by FIFA's ethics committee.

Blatter's FIFA career looks set to end in disgrace after more than 17 years as president and 40 years in total with the governing body.

Blatter and Platini were kicked out of the sport for conflict of interest in a 2 million Swiss franc (£1.35 million) payment deal that is also the subject of a criminal investigation in Switzerland. The bans are effective immediately.
