Kai Havertz will miss the rest of the season with a torn hamstring. Havertz suffered the injury during a training session as Arsenal is on a midseason break in Dubai.

Mikel Arteta admitted the club were short of attacking options and voiced his disappointment at missing out with sources confirming the club opted not to pursue a deal for Aston Villa's Ollie Watkins after having a £40 million ($49.8m) bid rejected.

Arsenal currently has Bukayo Saka out for an extended period with a hamstring injury, while Gabriel Martinelli picked up his own hamstring injury on February 5th. Gabriel Jesus is out for the season with a torn ACL. Ben White, Takehiro Tomiyasu, Riccardo Calafiori, Oleksandr Zinchenko, Mikel Merino and Martin Odegaard have each also been missing for periods.

Havertz has 15 goals and five assists in 34 appearances across all competitions.
