Atleti Negotiate To Keep Lucas Hernandez Until Summer

Amidst rumors of Lucas Hernandez's impending move to Bayern Munich, Atletico Madrid are negotiating with the German club to keep the Spanish defender through this season as Diego Simeone's side struggle with injuries.

Atleti would then sell Hernandez to Bayern for less than his $80 million buyout clause this summer.

"We have a good relationship with Bayern and we will meet with them in January to assess the situation. But the player cannot leave in this winter market,” said Atleti president Miguel Angel Gil Marín.
