Sources have confirmed an earlier report that Paris Saint-Germain will hire Thomas Tuchel as manager this summer.

An official announcement is unlikely to come before the end of the season as Unai Emery is expected to finish out the season.

Tuchel is a big name with a European pedigree.

Antonio Conte, Massimiliano Allegri, Carlo Ancelotti or even Luis Enrique looked better suited to the job. Nasser al Khelaifi reached out to Conte's camp a few weeks ago.

Emery and Laurent Blanc were unable to lead PSG to achieve their goals in Europe.

In some ways, Tuchel is considered a better version of Emery. Tuchel is a strong tactician with strong principles in terms of diet, discipline and style of play.
