Real Madrid are preparing to meet Mauro Icardi's €110 million ($135 million) release clause at Inter Milan, which they consider a bargain in the present transfer market climate.

Inter would like to offer Icardi a new contract and raise his release clause to €200 million, but they will first need to qualify for the Champions League next season.

Real Madrid has suddenly found themselves needing to remake their front line with the issues plaguing Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema and Gareth Bale.

Icardi has scored 18 goals in 20 Serie A matches and would be eligible to play in the Champions League for Real Madrid immediately.
